How I Met NICHOLAS SPARKS!

The Notebook, The Wedding, The Guardian, Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember – these are some of the books that made me cry. And who’s the great mind behind these novels? For most of you, this is a no-brainer question. Who else, but Nicholas Sparks ! I admire Nicholas! I love his writing style, and being a hopeless romantic myself, aside from being inspired by his novels, I also literally cry over his books! When I heard the news that he’s coming over for a book tour, my heart leaped! Finally, a chance to meet my idol! But, as the saying goes, life is like a roller coaster. Not everyone will have the chance to get his autograph. According to the mechanics of National Book Store , a lucky draw coupon will be given for every purchase of Nicholas’ new book, The Best of Me, but this coupon is not a guaranteed Signing Pass! NBS will also be giving the top 50 “early birds” a Signing Pass, but then, I have work, and I cannot leave the office early. I was really sad, dismayed, and dis

Dapitan Arcade

Since I'm expecting a new visitor at my flat this coming week, I decided to go to Dapitan Aracade to hunt for beautiful but affordable home decors. Thanks to my friend, Jil, for teaching me how to commute going there. From Taft Avenue, ride any jeepney or FX going to SM North or Fairview. Tell the driver to drop you off at Welcome Rotonda. FX fare from Pedro Gil Taft to Welcome Rotonda costs PhP20. From Welcome, cross the street To Burger King. Beside Burger King are jeepneys with a Mayon signage. Take the jeep and tell the driver to drop you off at Dapitan Arcade. Minimum fare P8. Since its a Sunday, and the rain suddenly poured heavily, some of the stalls were closed, including the side-street vendors. Despite this, I was able to buy these items, and the rain did not stop me from haggling with the vendors! Ceramic Balls - initially, I felt bad about this. From P50 each, only one vendor allowed to lower their price to P40. I was trying to get it for P35. I thought I failed. Bu

Nightmare

Something or someone is running after me.... I don't know if it's a person, an animal, a spirit, I don't know what it is. All I know is that I'm trying to catch my breath, as I run faster, and faster, and faster. But as I run faster, the slower I get to move. I'm too afraid to look back. I'm too scared to see what or who is running after me. I just need to run... fast! 3:35AM ---> time on my bedside clock. It was all a nightmare.

Employed

I'm stuck in our family business. Stuck, because I still can't find a job that can pay me more than what my parents can give. Being employed in my parents' business makes me enjoy a lot of perks. I have a flexible work schedule, although this means that I have to deal with those everyday "where-are-you text messages" 15 minutes before our office opens. I can also go on leave-of-absence with pay for as long as I have to keep my mobile phone open so I can answer office calls which comes in every quarter of an hour, and bear with "why-are-you-not-replying" messages for texts not answered within a minute.I have the power to create new office policies and the influence to implement them, but almost all policies that I made were changed by my "boss" after a month. My mom always tells me that I will never get rich without having my own business. Yes, I believe her (I've always been a good daughter, hahaha). I, too, want to have a business of m

Family Lunch at Eastwood

Just like any typical Filipino family, Sunday is our family day. It has been a normal scene for us to dine out for lunch. Last weekend, we spent our day at Eastwood, Libis, Q.C. There were several cosplayers in the area: We had our lunch at Trattoria Italia. It was our first time to try out this restaurant. The Table Setup felt so country- ish .  Service-wise, they were fair. The waitstaff was not so warm, but attentive enough to serve us. The food was, okay. Not outstanding, just plain and simply okay. Here's what we had:  Complimentary Bread with Liver Pate, Butter, and (salsa?) Prosciutto with Mango for our Antipasti: Risotto with Seafoods (clams, mussels, and shrimps) Pizza Lasagna Tomato-Based Pasta Cream-based Pasta My family loves Eastwood because they are pet-friendly... ...and our baby Zutsu can feel free to roam around. Baby Zutsu also gets to meet some friends:   After feeling tired of walking around, we had coffee at CBL okay, not the

Our Coron Trip 2010

Saving 1,000 PhP every payday for five months, me and my friends were able to raise 10,000 PhP each for our yearly out-of-town vacation. Initially, we planned to have a Puerto Princesa trip for this year. But, after being "convinced" by one of us, we all agreed to give Coron a shot. I tried my best to keep track of our Coron Experience (being the group's "treasurer" made my blogging easier). DAY 1 Thursday, September 23 - expected time of departure was supposed to be at 10 am but our flight with Zest air was delayed by 1 hour and 40 mins, argh! - arrival at the resort 1:20 pm, we were really hungry - lunch, resort seafront picnic style: rice, grilled fish, grilled chicken, ensaladang talong, tomatoes w/ onions, banana, softdrinks - start of island hopping at around 2:20 pm - siete pecados, went snorkeling - kayangan lake, we had to climb the slippery trail, but the lake was worth it, went swimming, nice view, very relaxing. Surprisingly, ther

Sagot ni Mama Fe

Sagot ni Mama Fe sa: Sulat ni Tatay at Nanay na para kay Klarisse I received a chain letter from my email. Finding it very touching, I decided to forward it to close friends and relatives. Surprisingly, one of my aunt sent the letter back to me. But this time, she added her simple notes, which made me so teary-eyed..... Here it goes: Sa aking pagtanda, unawain mo sana ako atpagpasensyahan. Tulad

Blogging

Believe it or not, I can also write! I'm not a professional creative writer, nor a technical one, I just simply want to share my thoughts and opinions about how I view life. I believe that its never too late for me to start my own blog. The challenge is...how do I maintain it? Lets see...
