Family Lunch at Eastwood

Just like any typical Filipino family, Sunday is our family day. It has been a normal scene for us to dine out for lunch. Last weekend, we spent our day at Eastwood, Libis, Q.C.

There were several cosplayers in the area:

We had our lunch at Trattoria Italia. It was our first time to try out this restaurant.

The Table Setup felt so country-ish

Service-wise, they were fair. The waitstaff was not so warm, but attentive enough to serve us. The food was, okay. Not outstanding, just plain and simply okay. Here's what we had:

Complimentary Bread with Liver Pate, Butter, and (salsa?)

Prosciutto with Mango for our Antipasti:

Risotto with Seafoods
(clams, mussels, and shrimps)
Pizza

Lasagna

Tomato-Based Pasta

Cream-based Pasta

My family loves Eastwood because they are pet-friendly...

...and our baby Zutsu can feel free to roam around.

Baby Zutsu also gets to meet some friends:

After feeling tired of walking around,
we had coffee at CBL

okay, not the "real" coffee, but Ice-Blended drinks

before calling it a day

Manong Magbubuko

For today's daily dose of health drink, I decided to buy from Manong Magbubuko - that old man buko (young coconut) vendor who is a mainstay at a nearby wet market. Me: Isa nga po Manong: (In his serious and grumpy voice) Anong klase? Me: Yung malauhog po. (I remembered my Grandma who taught me that if I wanted to buy a buko for drinking, I should tell the vendor to pick a "Malauhog" type for me) Manong: (Taps his traditional sibak on a few heads of buko, until he finds the perfect one) Maswerte ka ineng, meron pang magandang Malauhog dito) Excellence in service.... that's what Manong Magbubuko just taught me this morning. He could have just easily given me the normal Malauhog buko  that I was asking for - after all, I obviously looked like someone who doesn't know anything about the different types of buko. But he CHOSE to exert extra effort, go the extra mile, and find the best buko for me. And with the years he spent in sharpening his own saw, he gained th...

I'm Back... Still the Same Me, only a Better One

When was my last post? October? Oh no! Seriously? That long? Geeeeessh! A lot of things happened in the last few months. Some trials came, and up to now, I am still trying to "fix" things, yeah, a LOT of things. Did I just hear you ask whats the fuss about? Only a handful of my chosen friends know about it. Shhhhh....While I'm in the midst of a battlefield, let me try writing another entry. I'm back to the online mode! Okay, so, since October, what has changed? Um..... I discovered a new side of me: I am spiritual! I have never expected that I could trust God this much. I'll be telling you more about this in the next few months (that is, if I don't get plagued with laziness and more trials).    What else? Oh, now, I am 20 lbs lighter. Yehey! I'm still way too far from my target weight, but, at least I'm moving. As what they say "slowly, but surely". Another physical change in me: I grew darker. A lot of people have noticed it, an...

The Missing Ingredient

December 31... Ingredients for Pinoy Style Kids Spaghetti... checked! Ham... checked! Queso de Bola... checked! Ingredients for Graham Cake... checked... ooops.... not yet complete... I still lacked crushed Grahams. But its okay, its still morning, I have the whole day to buy crushed Grahams, after all, I have a handful of grocery stores near my place. Passed by store 1. No crushed Grahams... Its okay, there are still other stores. My BFF asked me why can't just I use the whole Graham crackers instead. I said I just can't. I won't be able to get the consistency that I wanted to achieve for the crust. It won't taste the same as I want it to be. I just want the cake to be perfect - for those who will be eating it - for people I love.  Passed by store 2. No crushed Grahams... What? Argh. My heart skipped a beat. Dub dub... dub dub... dub dub... I just need to have that crushed Grahams... Passed by store 3. No crushed Grahams... Oh no! Starting to panic!...
